About Me

Persephone Zymos was brought up to go into the STEM field by her doctor mom and scientist dad, so everyone was shocked when she decided to pursue music as a career. She worked so far ahead in math, she took Calculus 3 her sophmore year of high school. She always knew when she was younger she would have a job that would help others, an engineer, an oncologist, or a plastic surgeon. Now she knows her music can help others and make an impact.
Persephone's music path began when she was in 2nd grade, with featured roles in the musical The Wizard of Oz as a munchkin, lullaby league, and jitterbug. The adults in the lead roles proved to be such amazing role models, Persephone knew she had to continue singing to be just like them. After that one musical, she began taking private singing lessons and continues to this day. Working hard with the little opportunities we had in small town Wisconsin, she participated in children's community theater. Her desire to pursue music as a career took off after her role as Annie in Annie the musical. Again working with children and adults with this musical, learning from the adults and helping teach the kids, there was nothing that made her happier. Persephone participated in every workshop and musical camp she could find, traveling to Milwaukee as well as New York to attend multiple week camps at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), a private conservatory for the performing arts.

Her senior year of high school was spent being a full time college student for Vocal Performance Opera at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
Apart from music, she has completed volunteer work for years. Her favorite volunteering 'job' was teaching Afghan immigrant children English, helping with homework and adjusting to American life. Seeing their progress and how much she personally made an impact was worth all the time at the library sounding every word out when reading together. Besides school, extra curricular activities, and volunteering, she worked on a farm for old and disabled animals for a few years. She fed, watered, cleaned, and cuddled with the animals any free time she had. Seeing the impact these lively animals had on disabled children made every early morning or late night worth it on the farm.
In the future, Persephone hopes to sing on Broadway and perform for a living to make her impact.
